Structure

The Anna International Aiport is spread over an area of 1323 acres. There are 3 terminals: Terminal 1 at Meenambakkam used for Cargo. Terminals 2 and 3 located at Tirusulam used for domestic and international passenger operations respectively.

Passenger vehicle parking

1200 cars could be parked in the aiport parking lot as of 2018. 2237 car accomodation was enabled in 2018 with the construction of a multi level car parking lot. A new parking facility is being constructed by the Olympia group and Larsen & Tourbo and is expected to be open in July 2022.

Air traffic control center

India's biggest Air Traffic Control Center is located in Chennai. There are two radars in Chennai—the mono-pulse secondary surveillance radar at Porur and the Chennai Westing House (terminal) radar. ollowing the Performance-based navigation system (PBN) and the air traffic control automation, in 2011, the AAI initiated a pilot project on a Ground-based augmentation system (GBAS), as part of implementing Gagan (Geo Augmented Navigation) in the country. There will be a set of 3–4 GPS satellites, one geo-synchronous satellite, GPS receivers at end of the runways, a ground station and a VHF data broadcast system. When the pilot project starts, Chennai Airport will be the first airport in the country to have the facility
